MUMBAI: In a sting operation on Saturday night, the Nagpada police raided a brothel at Bhori Chawl and rescued 11 girls from it.

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal"><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">MUMBAI: In a sting operation on Saturday night, the Nagpada police raided a brothel at Bhori Chawl and rescued 11 girls from it.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">Assistant police inspector A K Patil told TNN on Tuesday that they had arrested two women, Madhubai Rajgiri (45) and Sitabai Tamang (48), who managed the brothel under section 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA).</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">Patil said they raided Bhori chawl (Room no 7) after they received a tip-off from an anonymous caller.

"The girls kept insisting that they were adult women above 30 years of age. However, medical tests from a state government hospital will confirm that some of them are minors," Patil said.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">The girls and the arrested brothel madams will be produced before the Mazgaon court on Tuesday. "Then as per the court orders, the rescued girls will be first sent for a medical test to confirm their actual age," Patil said, adding that some of the girls hailed from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur and Nepal.</span></div> </div>
